Speaking

Talks on AI, delivery and leadership.

I speak about the decisions and relationships that shape technology work: adopting AI, examining delivery evidence and giving teams the authority to act. The talks draw on implementation, coaching and the questions people bring from their own organisations.

What I’m working on now

Talks are usually written for the event. These are the questions the next ones will come from.

AI and the codebases it lands in

Coding agents write fast. What decides whether that speed survives contact with an existing codebase, and what should leaders ask for before it ships?

What delivery evidence can and can’t tell you

Flow data shows where work waits. It doesn’t say why. How do you get from an observation to a decision without skipping the investigation?

Expanded biography

Roman Lobus speaks on AI adoption, product and engineering work, team autonomy and organisational change. His talks draw on experience in performance engineering, enterprise consulting and product leadership, with direct involvement in the design and implementation of change.

He began his career as a performance engineer in Ukraine. At Hewlett-Packard, he managed mission-critical bank support contracts before moving into consulting. Later engagements included transformation leadership on a Shell project. He worked as an Agile Coach (vendor) within BHP's $300M Cloud Acceleration programme, focused on outcome-oriented ways of working.

He currently serves as VP of Agile Product and Portfolio Management at a leading global airline, where his work includes portfolio governance, product lifecycle redesign and AI adoption. He is also a Professional Scrum Trainer and an executive and team coach. He built Flow Observatory to investigate delivery flow, record changes and review results.

He is the author of The Art of Creating Self-Organizing Teams (Apress, 2026). His next book, The Predictability Loop, examines evidence, decisions and the economics of software delivery with AI. It is a work in progress, with publication expected in March 2027.

“Roman Lobus' session at Scrum Gathering Stockholm was an absolute highlight. His insights into the role of the Scrum Master in self-managed environments were both thought-provoking and practical.”
